2nd Annual Doughnut Run Tests Students' Stomachs and Stamina

This past Sunday VES students ate boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts with their guilt only assuaged by the required 3 campus laps in the 2nd annual Doughnut Run. Students competed for the glory of finishing 3, 6 or 12 doughnuts while they ran, walked or skipped approximately three miles around the campus.

Despite the consternation of Coach Sedlar, soccer player Thomas Battle came first in the 12 doughnut category at 32 minutes and 9 seconds, with Jackson Mutch coming in as runner-up at 34 minutes and 30 seconds.

Cross country was well represented by Maddie Walker and Kane McLaughlin, who tied for first place in the 6 doughnut category at 24 minutes and 18 seconds. Bora Apek was runner-up at 30 minutes and 11 seconds.

Another cross country victory in the 3 doughnut category with Joseph Stanley in first place with 18 minutes and 55 seconds and Jason Yu placing second at 24 minutes and 30 seconds.

Congratulations to all who participated, and thanks to Dr. & Mr. Knebel for organizing the event!
